Rise 'N Shine 5K
The Dow Bay Area Family YMCA invites you to Rise 'N Shine on September 24th! From the avid racer to the occasional walker, we encourage all to participate in Rise 'N Shine 2022 - there's something for everyone! Our new route will take you along Bay City's beautiful riverfront so you can take in the sights while you run or walk **race route map coming soon!**

All ages are welcome to participate, so bring your mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. Join us for this family friendly event as we promote healthy lifestyles in the Great Lakes Bay Region and support the YMCA Financial Assistance Program, providing scholarships for YMCA programs and childcare!

Awards will be given for the top 3 runners and the top walker as well as the first place finisher for each age division. Participants will receive a commemorative medal and custom long sleeve t-shirt with registration. NO SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED AFTER SEPTEMBER 6, 2022.

    Packet Pick-Up
    Participants will be able to pick up their race bib and other information the day before the race and the morning of the race. You will greet participants and hand out their race bib, t-shirt, and other packet information.
    Zone Leaders along the race route are the point person for the zone they're designated to. Zone leaders will be given 4-6 volunteers for their team to space appropriatley in their zone and guide (and cheer for!) runners and walkers along the route. There will be a Zone Leader meeting prior to the event with race officials to ensure each leader understands the route and their responsibilities.
    You'll help guide runners and walkers along the race route, ensuring their safety and encouraging them along the way! Depending on what zone you are placed in, you will stay and assist for the kids 1k race as well. All races will be completed by 10am.
    There are three water stations along the 5k route. You will set up the water station, fill cups, and make sure those runners and walkers stay hydrated!
    You will cheer on participants as they cross the finish line and adorn them with their custom finisher medal. You will hand our medals for both the 5k race and the kids 1k race.
    Let's have some fun! You'll run games and fun activities for kids as they make their way through our south parking lot during this free event! This event runs from 9am-11am. The Y will supply all the games and prizes. You will help set up before the event and tear down after the event. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you and assign a game or bounce house to you after your register.
